Certification

The Global Childbirth Educator Network is dedicated to quality training and support to help you become certified to teach prepared childbirth classes.  Our two week seminars are thorough, up-to-date and you will learn WHAT to teach and HOW to teach in first or third world settings. We also provide training and certification for Doulas (labor coaches).

Here are the requirements for certifying with GCEN:

Doula Certification

·        ______Complete reading and submit the reading verification form:

                  ___ Pregnancy Childbirth & the Newborn (or the Simple Guide to Having a Baby)

                  ___ The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers

                  ___ The Thinking Women’s Guide to a Better Birth

                  ___ The Birth Partner

·        ______Attend the Doula training portion of Seminar (submit completed module form)

·        ______Attend and chart 3 labors and births as a doula. Submit birth logs and                                                    evaluations.

·        ______Submit all documents with certification fee of $50 USD.

      Childbirth Educator

·         Attend the Childbirth Educator  training portion of Seminar (submit completed module form)

·      ______Complete reading and submit the reading verification form for all of the books listed above for doulas plus:

___ Maternity & Women’s Health Care

•   ______Teach an evaluated teaching series and submit information for review.

•   ______Take the certification examination

•   ______Submit all documents with certification fee of $50 USD

Seminar participants are provided online support for six months at no extra cost. Please contact us for more details.
