Every health care system in the world faces the same essential questions. Who decides how a baby is born? Who chooses where a birth takes place? Who bears the ultimate responsibility for a birth and its outcome? What are the legal rights of birthing women? What are the responsibilities of doctors, midwives and other caregivers in childbirth? What are the rights and interests of the unborn, and how are they protected? Quoted from www.humanrightsinchildbirth.com

Seminar begins this week!

We have 8 students coming from 4 countries to attend the Childbirth Educator and Doula Training seminar this week! Their experience ranges from those new to the birth field to experienced childbirth educators and midwives who serve cross culturally. This should be a lovely time of learning and fellowship. The students will also participate in outreach teaching in the slums while they are here, giving them opportunity to take what they have learned, adapt it, and student teach.
